I began reading other wargaming magazines and got to know one or two more enthusiasts and so good were the examples of my miniature scenery that soom people were offering me money to produce bits for them! ...well I've always liked money so I was happy to oblige!

When I'm making models I generally use materials like foam core board, mounting board, MDF and any other bits that come to hand, it's amazing what you can do with household rubbish! I always buy PVA glue from the local builders merchants where you can get several litres of the stuff for less than a tenner, rather than those tiny bottles from craft shops.

My son like me before him has now got into music and is learning to play Bass Guitar but we've spent many happy hours together playing, painting and glueing and sticking, and I of course am still interested in taking on commisions! At the moment I'm working on a project I've been involved with for several years for model soldier collector Dave McKenna in Birmingham. He collects 54mm figures from the period of the British Raj in India and has had me engaged on a diorama of an Indian Port that by now must take up three quarters of his living space! So I'm always open to offers of work!
